Privacy Policy
Plain and simple: we collect as little as possible, we use it only to do the thing you came here for, and we never sell or share it.

Who We Are
Canada Coffee Championships (“CCC”, “we”, “us”) is an independent archive for Canadian coffee competition culture, run by a small team. The same operator also runs the Instagram accounts described below. This policy covers both this website and the private tool we use to read and respond to direct messages on the Instagram accounts we operate.
Information We Collect
Website usage. We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are popular. This is anonymous traffic data — it does not identify you personally, and we do not use cookies to track you across other sites.
Instagram direct messages. When you send a direct message to one of the Instagram accounts we operate, we receive that message — the text you sent, your Instagram display name, and any photo or voice note you attach — so we can read it and reply to you. We only receive messages that you choose to send to us; we do not access your wider inbox, your profile, your followers, or anyone else’s conversations.
How We Use Your Messages
Solely so a real person — the account owner — can read your message and write you a personal reply, in their own words. Every message is handled by a human. We do not send automated, bulk, or scheduled messages, we never start conversations you didn’t, and we do not use your messages for advertising, marketing lists, or profiling.
What We Never Do
We never sell, rent, or trade your data. We never share your messages with third parties for their own use. We don’t build advertising profiles from them, and we don’t feed them to anyone outside the small team that operates the accounts.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your messages only as long as needed to hold a normal back-and-forth conversation and any follow-up. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time and we will (see below). Anonymous website analytics are retained in aggregate only.
Deleting Your Data
Want the messages you sent us removed? Email us and we’ll delete them from our systems. You can also delete a message on your end in Instagram, and you can disconnect from us at any time by blocking or no longer messaging the account.
Instagram & Meta
Direct messages are delivered to us through Instagram’s official platform, operated by Meta. Your use of Instagram itself is governed by Meta’s own terms and privacy policy. We only receive the messages Meta passes to us for the accounts we operate, and we handle that data as described here.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
